Cast: Priyamani, Sarath Kumar, Krishnam Raju, Ashish Vidyarthi
Direction: V Samudra
Simply put, it's a tediously trashy film that falls short of being an assault on your senses. Everything about the movie is so sloppy that, five minutes into the movie you realize this one's going to be a pain.
For most part of the first half the protagonist, Chandi goes on an execution spree killing a district collector, a bunch of rapists just about to molest a young lady in a moving bus (while her bloodied male companion is hapless watching with his hands tied), the brother of a powerful minister and the likes.
That, it turns out is just a buildup to create a sense of suspense among the audience to wonder what for? About twenty minutes or so into the movie Chandi wakes up having nightmares about an Alluri Seetharama Raju statue being felled by a land mower. With the state police unable to crack the case, the CBI steps in to nab the killer. The investigation officer is stunned to realize that Chandi is infact a direct descendent of Alluri Seetharama Raju. And then the movie heads to a predictable climax.
Priyamani is one of the finest actors going around at the moment no doubt but for all her talent, she can't pull off a half baked character in what seems like a no brainer of a plot. The star cast consists of actors past their prime like Sarath Kumar, Krishnam Raju and Ashish Vidyarthi who all look like pale shadows of themselves. But would such seasoned actors do such silly films will be the more pertinent question.
We will not get into the filmmaking part of the movie, because frankly there isn't any on display. The music is tacky, writing cheesy, acting over the top, camera work shoddy and editing sloppy. Random home videos will have better production values than this movie.
